Nigerian music star Davido reportedly lost his temper in High Court, Yaba during a custody hearing with ex, Sophia Momodu, according to lawyer Maruf Muhammed.

“Davido in High Court, Yaba now! Come and see drama in court. The lawyer made OO1 lose his patience during cross-examination o! Be you never so high, the law is above you!!” he tweeted.

One Twitter user explained that cross-examinations can be stressful:

“It is very easy to do, even a new lawyer will make him loose his patience. Anyone who is not used to court appearances can be stressed during cross-examination.

No matter how big or popular the person is! No matter how composed the person is! Cross-examination is meant to shake tables, even if the tables are strong initially. Every lawyer is looking for that position to break the table.”

Maruf agreed that the lawyer had rattled Davido, but his father helped calm him down:

“Yes, oo! The lawyer hit him and made him look worthless. He got angry. Na him Papa de pat him.”
