Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to stay alert and defend their votes in the 2027 general elections, cautioning against any attempt to tamper with results at polling units
The former presidential candidate and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress made the remarks in Akwa Ibom State during an event where the state’s ObIdient Movement formally aligned with the party.

Addressing supporters on Saturday, Obi emphasised the need for active citizen participation and strict protection of electoral processes.
“In that polling booth in 2027, if they don’t count it, we count the person,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has already released the timetable for the 2027 polls. According to the schedule, presidential and National Assembly elections are slated for February 20, 2027, while governorship and State House of Assembly elections will take place on March 6, 2027.
