Peter Mbah is no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Peter Mbah officially defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

He was elected as the Governor of Enugu State in 2023 under the platform of the PDP, but he, along with a significant portion of his cabinet and other elected officials, switched to the ruling APC, citing the need to align Enugu State with the Federal Government (“connecting to the center”) for accelerated development.
