Actress, Sarah Martins has finally addressed the controversy surrounding a dispatch rider who publicly professed his love for her, clarifying that he did not lose his job as earlier claimed.

Taking to social media under the caption “The DISPATCH RIDER and his crush,” the actress revealed that she reached out to the young man, Opeyemi, after unblocking him and invited him out for lunch.

“So I reached out to Opeyemi last night after unblocking and asked him out on a date and in less than a second he replied and accepted to go on a lunch date with me.”

Sarah explained that the outing was not a romantic acceptance but an act of kindness meant to reassure him of his worth.

“Note: This is not me saying yes to his love request, this is me extending my hands of love to him reminding him that he is worthy of LOVE and AFFECTION regardless of his status.”

She added that she encouraged him to focus on building himself financially, expressing confidence that he would eventually meet a woman suited for him. However, she disclosed that he remained adamant about his feelings.

“I tried to convince him that God will bless him with a woman better than me when he’s financially stable enough to settle down but baba insisted it’s me or nobody else.”

Addressing the rumours that trailed their earlier interaction, the actress firmly stated that the dispatch rider was neither dismissed nor suspended from his job.

“And again, he wasn’t sacked nor suspended from his dispatch work but a little assistance from each and everyone of us can help him stand on his own as a man.”
