Sturla Holm Laegreid, the Norwegian biathlete and Olympic medalist, may have secured bronze at the Winter Olympics, but his ex-girlfriend is not ready to forgive him for his recent public confession of infidelity.
During a medal-winning interview, SHL admitted, “I made the biggest mistake of my life and was unfaithful, and I told her about it a week ago. This has been the worst week of my life.”
His ex congratulated him and teammate Johan-Olav Bothn but made her feelings clear: “It’s hard to forgive. Even after a declaration of love in front of the whole world.”
She added, “I did not choose to be put in this position, and it hurts to have to be in it. We have had contact, and he is aware of my opinions on this.”
And she thanked her support system:
“I am grateful to my friends and family who have supported me through this time and to everyone else who has thought of me and sympathized, without knowing who I am.”
SHL is aware of her remarks but declined to comment.
