The Benue State Police Command has recovered a motorcycle stolen from a lady by her lover.    The victim, said to be a student of the College of Education, Katsina-Ala, Benue State, said suspect, identified as Mr. Aondoaseer Hyacinth Iortyom, allegedly tricked her under the guise of a romantic relationship and made away with her bike, gas cylinder, perfume, and cash.   According to the lady,  Aondoaseer approached her along Ugbema Junction while she was travelling for the weekend.   He requested a lift as he was also heading toward Turan-Kwande.  She stated that after arriving in Jato-Aka, where he reportedly became stranded, she assisted him in securing free accommodation and later dropped him off at Ugbema Junction the following day as he proceeded to Gboko, while she returned to Katsina-Ala.  The relationship, she said, progressed afterward, with the suspect visiting her at school.   On that fateful day, he accompanied her to campus to sign some documents. While she waited for her turn, he allegedly asked for her motorcycle keys to purchase food for her. However, he diverted from that errand, went to her residence, retrieved her room key from its storage place, accessed the room and removed several items, including her motorcycle, gas cylinder and other personal belongings.  Since the incident, the suspect has stopped answering her calls. Attempts by third parties to reach him were also unsuccessful, as calls were reportedly declined.  Human rights activist, Elder Sughnen Yaaya, who confirmed the development on Thursday, February 12, 2026 said police have since recovered the motorcycle and officially returned it to the student.  “SHOUT POWER TO Benue State Police Command, Makurdi Mbakaange, Vandeikya LGA people, na una person do this lady (student) dirty. Proper handover was done. Police handover the bike to the lady. See fine babe with nice backside this guy miss. Don’t worry, she’s my sister from Kwande….if you want to marry her, come to me direct.
